Thunderstorms warning for coming days as Preston and Lancashire prepares for heavy rain

Preston is set for wet, stormy weather over Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28 after over a week of sunshine.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain may lead to flooding and transport disruption across Preston and Lancashire as spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and possibly some road closures.

There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater or lightning strikes.

The Met Offices warnings stop for Preston on Thursday, July 29, although rain is still forecast.
