The Tesco Express store on Preston’s Blackpool Road has partially closed for refurbishments.

The store shut its doors on Sunday 18 July and is not expected to fully reopen until 26 August. A smaller, temporary store will be open from 4 August.

In the meantime, customers are encouraged to use the Tesco Express store at Tulketh Mill, on Blackpool Road, Ashton-on-Ribble.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused while our Blackpool Road Express store is being refreshed. These works will mean an improved experience for customers using the store. We hope to be open again by 26 August.

“Our nearest stores are the Tulketh Mill Express and the Penwortham Superstore, which are both just over a mile away.”

A Tesco staff member said the refurbishment will take a month to complete, and the temporary pop-up shop will sell necessities on a single aisle.
