Councillor David Borrow, Cabinet member for planning and regulation, said: “We have been made aware that a number of staff at Ingol Social Club have tested positive for Covid-19 and are currently isolating in line with Government guidance.
“At this time we have no confirmation of any other positive cases associated with the premises.
“An Environmental Health Officer has recently visited the site and reviewed the safety procedures in place, which were found to be satisfactory.
“This highlights that everyone should remain cautious as we are still in the midst of the pandemic. We encourage those eligible to take up the vaccine, get tested regularly and continue the good practices of hand washing, giving each other space, wearing a face covering indoors and letting fresh air in where possible.
“We all have a role to play in keeping each other safe.”
