Police have seized stolen caravans from a traveller site on Ribbleton Park following a theft from a storage unit in Euxton.
After arriving at the park, Lancashire Road Police and the Lancashire Police Dog Unit discovered one of the five caravans stolen from the storage unit and the car used in the incident. They also seized five other stolen caravans.
A local resident said: “One of our neighbours took her dog out, and there were police who stood near the toilets on Blackpool road.

“So she said to one of the officers, ‘Are you going to move all these caravans off here. It’s not fair on the people who live around here. Their dogs are running wild, chasing after people walking their dogs. They’re driving all over the grass in their vans. The noise is just not on at night!”
“The officer shrugged his shoulders and said. ‘I dunno, I don’t think so’. It’s just a joke. We pay our council tax, which goes to the police to protect and serve us, and all we get is a shrug of the shoulders when we ask for help!
“Then, as she was walking away, he turned to another officer and said, ‘If we move them off here, they’ll only go somewhere else.”
