Person taken to hospital after being rescued from flat fire in Eldon Street

A person has been taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after being rescued from a second floor flat fire.


The incident happened in the early hours of Monday (26 July) in Eldon Street, which runs between Shelley Road in Ashton-on-Ribble through Plungington to Brackenbury Road.

Three Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service fire engines from Preston and Penwortham attended the property.

The person was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, who also used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
