Preston Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage after an attempted robbery in Ribbleton.
AdvertisementThe incident happened at about 1am today (Friday 30 July) in Miller Road, close to Glades Care Home.
A man approached the victim, who is in his 60s, and threatened him with a knife demanding that he hand over money. The victim explained that he didn’t have his wallet on him and the offender ran off empty handed down a path in the direction of New Hall Lane.
The offender is described as being in his 30s, around 5ft 7in tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a dark coloured winter-style coat with a hood and a face covering.

Detectives are carrying out a number of enquiries including looking at CCTV in a bid to identify the offender, but they are also appealing for the public’s help.
