Long delays after crash on M6 southbound near Preston

Motorists are experiencing long delays after part of the M6 southbound near Preston was closed due to a collision.
Traffic officers were called to the crash between junctions 31a and 31 at around 4.45pm today (Thursday 1 July).
Two lanes were closed and traffic held while officers cleared the vehicles and debris from the carriageway.
All vehicles were later cleared to the hard shoulder.

One motorist reported that heavy traffic remained at Broughton roundabout at around 6pm.
