Joy and then despair at Preston’s Euro Fan Zone on the Flag Market

It was a rollercoaster of emotions last night as England played Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

Prestonian England fans were jubilant as Luke Shaw scored the first goal of the match in the first couple of minutes.

Spirits were high, and people really did believe it was coming home for the first time since 1966.

Unfortunately, the excitement died down after Italy scored in the 67th minute, leaving England fans stressed.

The tension was high, and the next 23 minutes were uncomfortable to say the least.

Full time finished 1-1, and the three lions were desperate to get a goal in the 30 minutes of extra time.

Alas, this was not meant to be, and the game took a nerve wracking turn when a penalty shoot out was on the cards.

Eventually, after a very ‘edge of your seat’ shoot out, Italy took the Euro2020 title.

Unfortunately, it is not coming home this year…but it is the World Cup in 2022.
