Heavy rainfall on Monday (12 July) has caused flooding across Preston.
After it rained solidly during the afternoon, locals took to social media to share their images.
Floodwater gathered in Ashton-on-Ribble at the Aqueduct Street and Shelley Road junction, while Ronaldsway in Ribbleton was completely overrun with rainwater.
Hartington Road near the city centre was impacted.
Penwortham Girls High School announced the school would be closed on Tuesday (13 July).
A spokesperson for the Penwortham school said: “Following the heavy downpour of rain, the school has incurred significant flooding affecting major areas of the school. This has had an impact on a lot of classrooms and electrical systems.”
Motorways were also affected with a lane closed on the M6 between J32 for Broughton Interchange and J31A for Preston North.
