A former betting shop on Friargate has had plans submitted to become a bar, restaurant and radio hub.

The application intends a new use of the ground floor of the property as a bar with tables served by a small kitchen area in the ground floor area, and use of the first floor as a bar lounge with two karaoke studios.

The second floor would be used as a radio hub with four small radio broadcasting studios for the wider Preston area with broadcasting facilitated from a number of individual sound booths.
There will be an extra 112sqm of floor space used within the building.
Restaurant and bar opening hours will be 9am-12am Monday-Friday, 9am-1am Saturday and 11am-11pm Sunday and bank holidays.

At the building entrance, the shuttered entrance actually on Union Street will be sealed up with a new wall leaving just a main entrance with a new door addressing the front onto Friargate, which will be the main entrance to the bar.
The agent for the development is Planning Problems Solved and no date to discuss the application has been set yet.
