Firefighters tackled a fire at a former Chinese restaurant in Ashton-on-Ribble during Tuesday afternoon.
AdvertisementAt 2.57pm yesterday (Tuesday, July 13) four fire engines responded to a fire on Aqueduct Street.
The fire involved the derelict commercial premises – formerly the China House – consisting of three floors.
The fire was located on the first floor and was quickly brought under control.

Crews used two breathing apparatus, one house reel, triple extension ladder and some small tools to put the fire out.
As of 4.05pm, firefighters had extinguished the fire, but were still in attendance damping down and checking for remaining hot spots.
The building, before being a restaurant it was the Lime Kiln pub, was found to have been used as a cannabis farm during police raids in summer 2018.
It closed as a restaurant in 2014 and its then owners were found guilty of health and safety breaches.
