Walk in vaccination centres across Preston offering jabs to those eligible

Preston City Council have a walk in vaccination centre open today at Cardinal Newman College, Preston, Herschell St. car park, PR1 3QU.


The opening hours are 9am-12.30pm and then 1.30pm-5pm.

This is one of a series of clinics open around Preston this week.

Here are the walk-in vaccination clinic locations for the next week:

Venue – Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Football Club, Lightfoot Green Lane, Preston, PR4 0AP
Date – Monday – Sunday (2nd dose AZ, plus Thursday and Saturday 1st dose Pfizer)
Time – 8.30am – 6.30pm

Venue – St John’s Shopping Centre, Preston, PR1 1FB
Date – Monday – Sunday (Moderna, plus 2nd dose AZ)
Time – 8am – 8pm

Venue – Cardinal Newman College, Preston. Herschell St. car park, PR1 3QU
Date – Wednesday 16 June 2021
Time – 9am – 12:30pm, 1.30pm – 5pm

Venue – Preston Flag Market, City Centre, PR1 2PP
Date – Thursday 17 June 2021
Time – 9am – 12:30pm, 1.30pm – 5pm

Venue – Plungington Community Centre, Brook Street, Preston, PR1 7NB
Date – Friday 18 June 2021
Time – 9am – 12.30pm, 1.30pm – 5pm

Venue – Queens Street Shopping Park, Queen Street, Preston, PR1 4HZ
Date – Saturday 19 June 2021
Time – 9am – 12.30pm, 1.30pm – 5pm

Venue – Morrisons, Deepdale, Blackpool Rd, Preston, PR1 6US
Date – Sunday 20 June 2021
Time – 9am – 1pm, 2pm 6.30pm

The walk-in clinics are open to anyone aged 18 and over, subject to eligibility. Anybody who is eligible and living or working in Preston and surrounding areas as well as anybody with a caring responsibility for somebody else who lives in the local area can access a vaccination via the mobile site.

If you are unsure if you are eligible, please visit a clinic and speak to the team.

The eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Aged 18 and over with any underlying health conditions
  • Aged 18 and over and living, caring or working with anyone with underlying health conditions
  • Aged 21 and over
  • Health and Social Care staff
  • Any carers – paid or unpaid. You will not be asked for proof as unpaid carers are eligible.

No appointment is needed, just walk-in during the above operating hours.

Hot weather is predicted throughout the week so be prepared with a drink and sunscreen applied as depending upon demand there may be a wait for your vaccine.

Once you have received your vaccination from one of our qualified vaccinators there is a waiting area where the team will make sure you are well.

You will also be provided with information on how to manage any side effects you may experience.

Social distancing measures will be place throughout, and please remember to wear a mask unless you are exempt.
