Many roads in and out of Preston are currently at a stand-still or slow moving.

This is due to a three-vehicle car crash earlier today on the M6 between Junctions 31A and 32, as well as people travelling to Blackpool and the Lake District.

Emergency services attended the scene.

One lane of the M6 northbound is still closed with delays of up to 70 minutes.

Many of the roads are rated at a severe level of congestion with some not moving at all.

It is thought that the sunny weather has caused more cars to be on the road for people travelling to staycation areas such as the Lake District.
