Two boys have been spotted along the Lancaster Canal in Ashton-on-Ribble using a catapult to throw stones at swans and ducks.
The incident occurred on Sunday 16 May at around 1pm, but it is believed this is not an isolated incident.
They also catapulted a stone that hit a resident’s window from the opposite bank.
The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “The boys shouted over that they had already been shooting at our cats, and said they would do it again and that they hope they die.
“They then catapulted a stone that hit one of our windows not far from where our family was sat outside.”
The youngsters left and then came back later in the evening to shoot at the swans and their cygnets, with another disgruntled local telling them to move on.
Many residents have been complaining about the youngsters on social media, with one saying they had reported the boys to police the day before.
Another local said their parents need to speak to them as they tried and were sworn at by the youngsters.
If anyone sees these boys acting anti-socially in the area again, they are being asked to ring 101 quoting reference LC-20210516-0653.
