Wet weekend predicted for Preston as thunderstorm risk increases

It’s set to be a rainy weekend for Preston as more dreary weather is predicted.


Thunder, rain and cloud are expected to hit Preston and Lancashire over the weekend.

Saturday 15 May will see persistent showers in the evening, but there may be some sunny spells throughout the day.

 Sunday is a similar story, with unsettled conditions, sunny spells and showers expected.

The rain will be heaviest throughout Sunday and Monday, when the thunder risk increases.


On Monday, when indoor hospitality is set to re-open, the thunderstorm risk is currently at 52 per cent.

By Tuesday, the showers should be lighter and less frequent.
