Lancashire Constabulary has welcomed a new Operations Manager into post at its Preston divisional headquarters.
Superintendent Hassan Khan grew up in East Lancashire. He joined the force in 2004 and was initially positioned in the Ribble Valley for four years as a police constable, before being promoted to Sergeant in 2008 and then Inspector in 2013.
He then spent the next few years working in response and neighbourhood policing across East Lancashire as well as on corporate projects for Lancashire Constabulary.
He became an accredited Silver Public Order Officer and took up a Force Incident Commander role at Headquarters in Hutton in 2018. He is also an accredited Firearms Commander.
Having spent his 17 years of service located in the East of the county, Supt Khan is pleased to join Preston.
He said: “The last 12 months have been really difficult living under restrictions, but I look forward to working with the people of Preston.
“In my short time here, I have already been impressed with the diverse communities the city has, from students through to a range of businesses.
“Our role is to make communities feel safe and for them to have a voice around policing priorities about what matters to them most and I will be working closely with partner agencies across the city to help do this.
“One of the ways people can tell us about their concerns is through Lancashire Talking and I would encourage communities to sign up, our neighbourhood teams can then act upon those concerns.”
