Preston’s College has recognised Taylor Wimpey North West as an ‘Exceptional Employer 2021’ for its apprenticeship scheme.
The scheme supports and encourages young people to begin their career in the construction industry.
It has so far provided training and apprenticeship opportunities to four pupils at Preston’s College, one of who completed the scheme last year, and is now employed as a bricklayer at the company.

Mark Taylor, Head of School for Construction and the built Environment at Preston’s College, said: “For a number of years, Taylor Wimpey North West has provided support to the delivery of education, training and apprenticeships to Preston’s College.
“They have provided industry placements, apprenticeships and also social value activities in terms of recycling materials for our construction learners and ensuring the local community benefits from the construction projects and activities.
“Taylor Wimpey has a shared passion and vision for developing communities and young people, enabling social mobility and the development of key construction skills.”

Preston’s College Employer Awards recognise the contribution, impact and success of partner employers and organisations, and allow it to celebrate and promote the work that they do in support of apprentices and its college community.
