On Saturday, 29 May, at 9am shop owner Sam Hamblett will open Fishing Tackle Direct.
The shop is located opposite Lane Ends pub in Woodplumpton Road, Ashton-on-Ribble.
It was opened as an online only retailer in 2019, and it aims to be the most ethically responsible fishing tackle retailer in the UK.
Specialising in sea fishing, the shop offers many well known brands as well as supporting smaller businesses and emerging brands.

Where possible, the shop offers recyclable packaging and boosts an eco-friendly self-service dry coarse bait station.
Shop owner Sam said: “I grew up in Morecambe, and even at 8 years old I was often in local tackle shops trying to sell them crabs – even if they weren’t peeler.
“A chap in one of these shops took pity on me and started taking me out, taught me how to cast, bait up and tie rigs and before long I was hooked – excuse the pun!
“My wife is a Prestonian, and we both love the local area. After our son was born, I wanted to build something that I’ll be able to pass down to him, and started Fishing Tackle Direct online in 2019.
“We’ve a strong, loyal customer base online and I realised that Preston, although it has some great existing tackle shops, doesn’t have a sea fishing specialist, so that’s what we aim to be.
“We’ve invested heavily in new brands, environmentally friendly packaging & baits and I’m looking forward to welcoming both new and existing customers to the shop.”
With over 700 product lines, 60 brands and various disciplines available, you are sure to find what you need for a day at the beach, river or canal.
