An investigation has been launched after a fire above a salon in New Hall Lane in the early hours of today (Sunday 9 May).
Fire crews from Preston, Bamber Bridge and Penwortham were called out shortly before midnight on Saturday.
Video footage shared to Facebook showed flames rising from the windows of a flat over Adams Hair Salon.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Four fire engines from Preston, Bamber Bridge and Penwortham were called to a flat fire above a shop on Tunbridge Street, Preston.
“Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one jet and two hose reels to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
At around 2am a spokesperson for Preston Police posted on Facebook: “Emergency services are currently on scene on New Hall Lane, Preston where a fire has broke out in a flat.
“Traffic is building up and we are urging people to avoid the area.”
Adams is located at 211 New Hall Lane, at the junction with Tunbridge Street and three doors down from The Acregate pub.
