Residents of Derby Lodge, amongst other nearby residents attended a peaceful protest on Saturday 15 May to keep The Plungington Hotel, Fulwood open.
This comes after a campaign was launched on Facebook to save the pub.
The Facebook group Can we keep The Plungington Hotel open? has attracted 1,500 members.

Jess Hopwood, a resident of Derby Lodge who attended the community protest said: “We were told by the staff at Derby Lodge that the Plungington Hotel was shutting and I was approached by a staff member that asked me if I would like to join the meet up with other residents and if I would like to provide some posters.
“The carers used to take us over for meals and a drink if we wanted too and since a few residents are unable to travel far without assistance this pub is the only one that’s local for us.
“It’s not like we can walk or just go to the next nearest pub as its just not possible and with many residents with needs this was something they enjoyed and I wanted to provide a voice for me and the other residents.”

The Meat and Drink group handed the Fulwood pub back to owners Admiral Taverns in October last year.
A planned refurbishment of the pub never went ahead.
Jess added: “It would be a shame to see it go as so many people love The Plungington Hotel and the grounds are lovely and it’s just a good vibe.”
