Highways England took to social media this morning to make drivers aware of the road closure at the M6 northbound exit slip road at Junction 31 (A59 for Preston, Blackburn, Clitheroe).
The road is closed due to a collision and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance service are currently in attendance. Police have confirmed only minor injuries were sustained in the accident.
Traffic officers are also assisting in the area.

Motorists are being told to expect delays of up to 30 minutes on approach to the incident on the M6 northbound on the Junction 31 exit slip road, with three miles of slow moving traffic spanning back to Junction 29 (A6, M65).

Lancashire Police released a statement which said: “Emergency services are currently dealing with a collision on the M6 Northbound, J31.
“Please avoid the area where possible to assist emergency vehicles attending. We are implementing road closures that will be in place for some time.”
Just before 9am, the M6 northbound J31 exit slip road was re-opened, and the rolling road block was released. All lanes are now open.
