Lancashire Police are appealing for information on a road rage attack that happened on the M55 in Greenhalgh over the weekend.

Police were called around 6.55pm on Sunday 23 May to a report a man had been attacked in Fleetwood Road, close to Junction 3 of the motorway.

A man reported he had been driving a blue Ford Focus eastbound when the driver of a grey Volkswagen Polo cut across his vehicle.

It was alleged the Polo driver continued to drive alongside and cut across the Ford, with both drivers leaving the motorway at Junction 3.

The Polo driver then stopped his vehicle, blocking in the victim’s vehicle, with a man getting out and punching the driver of the Ford.

The offender got back into the Polo before leaving the scene, with the victim needing hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone who saw the attack to come forward.
