22 areas in Preston and South Ribble show fewer than three Covid cases in the seven days up to 28 April

A total of 22 areas in Preston and South Ribble have seen fewer than three new coronavirus cases in the week leading up to Wednesday 28 April.

The areas include Ashton-on-Ribble and Larches, Frenchwood and Fishwick and Leyland South West.

St Matthew’s recorded 35 new cases in the seven days due to an infection outbreak in HMP Preston.

Figures are updated weekly by Public Health England in the government’s coronavirus dashboard, with an interactive map of cases.

Preston’s current Covid case rate per 100,000 over that last seven days is 46.1, an increase from previous data.

England’s rate stands at 23.8, a decrease from previous data.
