A shipping container, much like Manchester’s ‘Hatch’, is set to appear on Moor Lane in Preston.
The project, namely ‘The Gates’, designed by Preston firm Studio John Bridge, covers up to nine 20ft container units with a tensile roof structure providing shelter and a green wall included as part of the plans.
The outdoor area will be food and drink-led, catering predominantly to the city’s students.

John Bridge said: “It’s a scheme which will provide a mix of street food and local trade to Preston’s growing student campus and city living culture.
“The contemporary converted shipping containers can accommodate 80 people, albeit approximately 50 under Covid-19 compliant seating.
“However, this could be increased with central courtyard standing and bar style seating.
“The proposals seek to grow on the momentum and trend set by the likes of Manchester’s Hatch and Shoreditch’s Box Park.”
