A temporary road closure is in place in Preston city centre due to an unsafe building.

The building at 3 Fox Street is on the corner of St Wilfrid Street.

Preston City Council Building Control has temporarily closed off the end of St Wilfrid Street and part of Fox Street until the building can be made safe.

As a temporary measure, access has been opened up from Fox Street on to Fishergate, however the Lancashire County Council bus enforcement remains in place.

The access to Fishergate is for emergency vehicles and deliveries to Fox Street businesses.

Surgeon’s Court can be used as an alternative exit route.

The Council has asked drivers to avoid using the top of Fox Street for parking until the fencing has been removed, to ensure emergency access at all times.
