Police are appealing for information after a teenager was left with a broken nose and jaw after being hit in the face with a hammer.
The 17-year-old male was walking on Manchester Road between Preston city centre and Avenham on Friday 26 March at about 2.15pm when the attack happened.
He was assaulted by four Asian males, aged between around 14 and 18, all dressed in black. The suspects then ran in the direction of Laurel Street.
A spokesperson for Preston Police said: “This was a serious assault which has left a young victim with substantial injuries.
“Forensic examination of items recovered from the scene are being carried out, but we would also like to see any CCTV or vehicle dash-cam footage that may be available.
“We are confident that forensics and CCTV enquiries will identify those involved, so would urge the offenders to come forward and speak to us.”
