A Bamber Bridge road was closed last night as emergency services dealt with a building fire.

The partial closure of Station Road was near the level crossing.

South Ribble Police posted about the incident on Facebook at 8.20pm on Monday (19 April).

A spokesperson said: “Station Road, Bamber Bridge is currently closed at both ends due to a fire.

“Police and the fire service are in attendance and are asking for people to avoid the area until further notice.”

The incident involved the roof of a domestic property.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to bring the fire under control, later using a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.

Lancashire fire and rescue confirmed no casualties were reported.

Crews were in attendance for approximately one and a half hours.
