Police have seized a quad bike thanks to reports from the public of the vehicle being used in an anti-social manner around Avenham Park on Good Friday.
AdvertisementOfficers have been cracking down on illegal and nuisance use of off-road motorbikes, mopeds, scrambler bikes and quad bikes through Operation Dismount.
A spokesperson for Preston Police said: “Unfortunately for the owner of this quad bike, we’ve seized it from them under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.
“This seizure is directly following several reports from members of the public of motorbikes and the quad being used in an anti-social manner around Avenham Park whilst the park was rather busy.
“The owner will now find themselves with a hefty recovery fee for the quad, and the incident may even raise an eyebrow with the insurance provider.”
Police believe there may be footage taken of the other vehicles causing a nuisance.
