Land in Navigation Way by the Docks in Preston has been sold off by the city council.
AdvertisementDocuments detailing the sale are being held by Preston City Council but are restricted, preventing the public knowing further details on who the land has been sold to.
The documents are restricted due to financial or business affairs of an individual being involved – giving the city council powers to restrict the documents under the Local Government Act 1972.
On the Preston City Council website the sales report is described as ‘consent to a disposal of the Freehold Interest in the site of Motor Depot at Mariners Way, Preston to Hadi SM Investments Limited, the long leaseholder.’
Hadi SM Investments Limited is listed under Companies House to own a pharmaceutical company, Acme Pharmatek Ltd with Ahsan Bawa of Fulwood listed as director.
No exact value for the sale of the land is listed but it is understood to be more than £100,000.
The land is currently used for a car dealership.
The decision to allow the sale made by Robert Boswell the Cabinet Member for Environment came on March 18, it was effective from March 30.
When asked for a comment on the sale a city council spokesperson said: “An Executive Decision has been made to sell the freehold interest in this case but no further comment can be made about ongoing legal matters.”
