Preston Bus Station ‘concrete’ hanging in the car park is actually foam

The photo above was taken as worried motorists feared the ‘concrete’ loosely hanging from the first floor of Preston Bus Station was an accident waiting to happen, putting motorists and their motors at risk.

However, after a tweet was posted alerting authorities to the hazard, Lancashire County Council quickly reassured bus station users the ‘concrete’ was in fact structural foam.

The response received from a spokesperson from Lancashire County Council read: “We received a report yesterday afternoon about a piece of expanding foam which had come loose, and attended immediately to remove it.

“This appears to be an isolated issue, however one of our building surveyors will be carrying out an inspection to check that everything is okay.”
