Two police officers are recovering after being involved in a crash in Walton-le-Dale on Friday (23 April).
The incident, which happened in London Road near the Capitol Centre, involved a British Transport Police van and a car.
Emergency services attended and one casualty was released by firefighters and taken to hospital by ambulance.
Chief Inspector David Rams from British Transport Police has taken to Twitter to express his gratitude for the help his colleagues received.
Responding to a tweet from Ian Armistead, Protection Transformation Team Station Manager for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Chief Inspector Ram said: “A huge thank you from me for attending to assist British Transport Police. I have made contact with both officers today who thankfully don’t have serious injuries and are recovering at home.
“They have our full support package in place.
Ian Armistead had earlier tweeted: “Preston Fire Station along with blue light partners from North West Ambulance Service, Lancashire Police and British Transport Police responded to this incident. A challenging extrication for the crews to ensure the casualty had the best care. Wishing all those involved a quick recovery.”
The road was closed in both directions while emergency services cleared the scene.
