Scammer claiming to be from South Ribble Borough Council targeting elderly and vulnerable people in Bamber Bridge

South Ribble Borough Council are warning residents in the Bamber Bridge area about a man with a clipboard knocking on doors, claiming to be working with the council to reduce the council tax banding of properties.

It is thought the man is asking to enter the properties to take a look around.

The council is concerned that this may be a scam which could potentially be targeting elderly and vulnerable residents.

Remember – any person from the council will carry an ID card.
