Preston political correspondent Ranvir Singh didn’t hold back as she co-hosted Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid.
Ranvir appeared on the show this morning (Wednesday 10 March), just a day after Piers Morgan’s shock exit.
Although ITV has not officially announced the replacement of Morgan, a statement released by the channel states he has quit the show and will not return.
The departure comes in the wake of an explosive row with GMB weather presenter Alex Beresford during Tuesday’s show, and comments Morgan made regarding Meghan Markle’s mental health.
Ranvir started the 6.30am show off by saying: “The show is still GMB, we still do our job and we have still got lots to say and lots to debate.
“Of course for many of you this morning you will be scratching your heads a little bit. But we understand that and a colleague of ours has left so it is a different atmosphere in the studio today.”
Susanna went on to clarify that Ranvir was co-presenting because she was always due to be on the show to read the news today.
Ranvir, 43, said: “I was here anyway, yes. Don’t read anything into this. Yes, I have shifted seats on this brand new desk. I am glad to be here to be able to go through the programme with you today.
“You know, it’s a strange morning for all of us here, but the decision has been made and I think when there are thousands of complaints about something, things have to be taken seriously.”

Her statement points at the comments made by Morgan regarding Meghan Markle, which had sparked public outrage, 41,000 Ofcom complaints and an investigation at ITV.
Morgan had said live on the show: “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she says. I wouldn’t believe her if she read me a weather report.”
