There was an increased police presence this afternoon (Thursday 18 March) in Bamber Bridge.

South Ribble Police were called to a domestic disturbance at 1.30pm in the School Street area.

Officers, including armed officers, attended the area.

A man was seen making off from an address in possession of what is believed to be a sword.

After a short search, he was detained by PD Billie, who officers said would be given ‘extra treats’ for his hard work.

A spokesperson for South Ribble Police thanked locals for their patience and understanding during the fast moving incident.
