Aldi and more retail and leisure at Cottam Hall Brickworks approved
Cottam Hall Brickworks phase two of development has been approved by Preston City Council.
The development, being brought to the Cottam Brickworks site by BXB Cottam Properties, will comprise of an Aldi supermarket, 123,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, and 89 homes.
A number of new jobs will also be created with the opening of the supermarket, and also with the construction work set to go ahead.
Preston Railway Station staff racially abused as British Transport Police appeal for information
The British Transport police are appealing for information concerning a man who racially abused a member of staff at Preston Railway Station.
At 4.20pm on Tuesday 23 February a man entered Preston station and spoke to staff before arguing with them and becoming racially abusive.
The man then left the station and is seen on CCTV to kicking the glass fire escape door twice and smashing the door’s lower pane of glass.
Mobile Covid testing centre open at Moor Park Avenue
A new mobile Covid-19 testing site has opened at Moor Park Avenue.
The site will open for the next few days and residents can call the NHS on 119 to book in for a test.

Cars windows smashed on Chorley Road in Walton-le-Dale
Cars were vandalised in Walton-le-Dale during Monday 1st March.
The incident took place just before midnight at around 11.52pm on Chorley Road.
CCTV footage, seen by Blog Preston, shows three males throwing bricks at a building before vandalising a car.
£20.9m Towns Fund boost for Preston city centre projects including a Youth Zone
Preston has been awarded £20.9m from the government’s Towns Fund for a series of city centre regeneration projects, including a previously-scrapped Youth Zone.
The funding, announced as part of the Chancellor’s budget, will support redevelopment in the area surrounding the Harris, Preston Markets, the Guild Hall and the Bus Station, known as the Harris Quarter.
The development of Preston Youth Zone will see a state-of-the-art facility created for young people in Preston aged eight to 19.
