Haslam Park is set to reopen in a few weeks time following improvement works that started last year.
The works, which began in November 2020, were originally set to finish before Christmas, however has had to be pushed back.
Improvement works to the site include refurbishing some of the existing equipment as well as some new equipment, including installation of a new space net, double bump slide, nest swing and a mini trampoline and safer surfacing.

Councillor Robert Boswell, Cabinet member for environment and community safety, told Blog Preston: “We understand what an important role our parks and play areas are to everyone at the moment, helping with daily exercise and for mental wellbeing.
“The Haslam Park play area has undergone improvements works, however the site is currently in the hands of the contractor and will still need to pass a rigorous safety inspection.
“Part of the refurbishment included drainage work and the ground needs chance to fully dry out and recover, whereas recently laid grass seed also needs time to bed in without disturbance.
“We hope everyone can enjoy the play area again when it re-opens in a few weeks’ time.”
