Brook Street from Victoria Street to Fylde Road will be closed to all traffic from 15 March to 16 August 2021.

This is to facilitate highway improvement and installation of traffic lights.

County Councillor Keith Iddon, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “Work will be taking place on Brook Street to create new traffic signals including pedestrian crossings at the junction with Victoria Street.

“This will particularly benefit bus routes in this area, and will include designated waiting areas for cyclists at the crossings.

“There will also be changes made to the layout at the junction of Brook St and Fylde Road to assist buses when they’re turning in.

“Road closures will be needed during this work and diversions will be in place locally.

“This work will tie in with the UCLan work, which is set to be completed during the summer, and is also connected to the wider Transforming Cities Fund programme within Preston.

“The aim is to provide people with more options for how they get around, encourage sustainable transport and improve parts of the city for people and businesses.”
