Cottam Hall Brickworks phase two of development has been approved by Preston City Council.
The development, being brought to the Cottam Brickworks site by BXB Cottam Properties, will comprise of an Aldi supermarket, 123,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, and 89 homes.
A number of new jobs will also be created with the opening of the supermarket, and also with the construction work set to go ahead.
The scheme will be expected to deliver CIL payments to the city council to improve the neighbouring recycling centre as well as affordable housing, education, and management of on-site greenspace.
Gary Goodman, Director at BXB Cottam Properties Ltd said: “The new District Centre is a key component of the North Preston growth strategy and the facilities and services it will provide will benefit all the residents of north Preston.
“We are working constructively with the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership to pull together a funding package to assist in the delivery of the key infrastructure for the site.
“The final piece of the jigsaw which will see the delivery of the District Centre is securing land currently in the ownership of LCC & Homes England and discussions are ongoing.”
