14-year-old boy taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital after being hit by van in Fulwood

A 14-year-old boy has been taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for treatment after being hit by a van in Fulwood.

The incident happened today (Wednesday 17 March) at around 3pm in Black Bull Lane near Fulwood Academy.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police was unable to confirm the extent of the child’s injuries.

However, Lancs Live reports that North West Ambulance Service described his injuries as “serious”.

Traffic has built up in Fulwood as the roads are shut from Queens Drive to Conway Drive.

Blog Preston understands the road is likely to be shut for some time, leaving motorists looking for alternate routes.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
