A Fulwood church will appear on Songs of Praise this Sunday morning (21 February).
St Cuthberts in Lytham Road will be appearing on two forthcoming editions of ‘Lent Worship’ (which is in addition to the usual Songs of Praise) on Sunday mornings on BBC One during Lent.
The church will appear this Sunday, and again on Sunday, 14 March.
The services, featuring the Rev Mark Bradford, are pre-recorded, and will include other contributions from people elsewhere.
The Rev Kate Bottley will introduce this Sunday’s programme in what will be the first in a series for the season of Lent.
Hymns and songs for the season include In Christ Alone, Standing in the Need of Prayer and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, sung by Faye Simpson, Katie Ritson and the Adventist Vocal Ensemble.

Rev. Mark said: “It’s fantastic to be able to contribute to BBC One’s Sunday morning Lent Worship at a time when the Lenten themes of wilderness and isolation feel so live for us all.
“Two years ago, when BBC One recorded their Pentecost celebrations with us, we were amazed at the stories that came in to us of people across the country – and around the world – encountering God in their homes, even their hospital beds.
“At a time when we’re all so restricted as to where we can be, my prayer is that many would encounter God afresh through these programmes of worship and reflection this Lent.”
