Plans to turn Sharoe Green House neuro-rehabilitation centre into an education centre have been approved.
The site became a community centre in 2015, and will now be changed into an Islamic school.
The current building, which is opposite the Masjid-e-Salaam mosque, is set to be demolished and replaced with a purpose-built three-storey community centre.

The ground floor will be a nursery, hall space and catering area and classroom facilities, whilst the first floor will provide additional hall space and classrooms, with further classrooms on the second floor.
Outside there will be a children’s play area and 44 new car parking spaces, taking the total to 104.
The site is located in Watling Street Road, which is a primary route running east to west through Fulwood.

Current opening hours for the facility are 7.30am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 10pm on Saturdays and 8am to 9pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays, and these are to stay the same if the application is approved.
The application by Cassidy + Ashton has been approved if it meets conditions such as laying out car parking prior to occupation.
