A Preston woman has helped make getting period products delivered easier for women.
A post from Laura Jayne Ward on a Facebook page has led to Aldi putting sanitary items on their Deliveroo options.
Laura had a brain hemorrhage in September last year. This led to her driving licence being revoked, leaving her with limited access to shops during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Laura said she had ordered using Deliveroo before and had noticed that Aldi didn’t offer period products on the service, however she hadn’t thought much of it.

When Laura went back to order again, she noticed they were still not available and posted a light-hearted comment on a Facebook group.
Laura told Blog Preston: “They are not the only shop that don’t do it, me and my friend have both been struggling to find period products.
“I put a comment on the page saying I loved it but no period products were there and it caused uproar!”

She joked: “They had toothpaste, two types, and alcohol available!
“It was only innocent (the post), but some people were going into it saying that it’s anti-women, I’m sure it was just that someone didn’t think to put them on!”
From Thursday 4 February sanitary products were made available on the app. Laura added: “I couldn’t have done it without the other ladies.
“Positives vibes, positive change.”
