Preston City Council are warning residents of a scam doing the rounds.

Residents have been receiving emails, letters and calls about a council tax refund.

The letters go on to ask people to provide bank and card details to receive the refund.

Some people have even been asked to pay a fee as part of the process.

Preston City Council would like to remind people that this is a scam and not to click on any links or give away any bank or card details.
