The Preston City Living Strategy has also received an award nomination from the Royal Town Planning Institute which recognises the role planning plays in creating vibrant and sustainable communities.
Councillor Peter Moss, Deputy Leader of Preston City Council and Cabinet Member for Planning and Regulation, said: “Our planning team are fully deserving of this nomination for their continued hard work through what has been an extremely trying year. I am proud of all they have achieved.
“We are ambitious about sustainable and inclusive growth that benefits everyone in our community and central to that is the work of our planning team to ensure developments deliver real value to the city and that growth is achieved in the right way.
“It is also excellent to see the Preston City Living Strategy recognised. The pandemic has accelerated changes in the role city centres have to play and it is vital that new ideas and ambitious schemes like ours are put in place to support our city centre in continuing to be vibrant for years to come.”
Winners will be announced in a virtual ceremony which will be streamed from the Awards Room on Evessio at 4pm on Thursday, 29 April.
