More than 500 Covid related incidents recorded by police in Lancashire over the weekend

Lancashire police had one of their busiest weekends in terms of Covid related incidents in the weekend just gone.

517 incidents were recorded by officers, 181 fines were issued to rule breakers and three officers were assaulted.

Deputy Chief Constable Terry Woods thanks the ‘silent majority’ who are keeping to the current coronavirus rules and guidelines during lockdown 3.

Current rules mean no household mixing is allowed within houses. People can meet up with one member of another household while out on a walk, sticking to social distancing measures.
