Investigation into UCLan Sports Arena car fire underway

An investigation in to a fire at The UCLan Preston Sports Arena is currently underway following a suspected arson.
AdvertisementFirefighters were called to the scene in the early hours of Sunday 31 January.
On arrival they found a car abandoned and completely alight in the centre of the rugby pitches.

There was extensive damage to the vehicle and the pitches. Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are currently investigating the incident.
A University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) said: “We are liaising with Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service in relation to this incident, which has caused damage to a grass pitch and a rugby goalpost.”
