It is believed the offender or offenders travelled to and from the scene in a black or dark-coloured Seat Leon or Cupra-style vehicle.

The car was parked on Lydiate Lane while the burglary was in progress.

DC Paul Reid, of Chorley CID, said: “We believe that the offender or offenders arrived at the address in a dark coloured Seat Leon or Cupra type vehicle, which was parked on the main toad while the burglary took place. We would now like to hear from anybody who drove down the road between the times stated and has dashcam footage which may have captured the vehicle.

“We would also like to hear from anybody who has any other information about the incident.

“Whatever you know, please get in touch with us straight away.”
