Contractors have replaced temporary lampposts in Winckley Square this week.
Modern temporary lamps were placed there after old heritage lampposts were removed after failing safety checks in September 2019.
This was following a collapse of a lighting column on Avenham Lane.

Locals have welcomed the change back to heritage lampposts which are more like the originals.
Patricia Harrison, Chair of the Friends of Winckley Square said: “LCC Highways have managed a good balance between form and function.
“The new lamps look in keeping with other local heritage assets, including the various other styles of metal lampposts in the area but they also provide more effective street lighting for pedestrians and traffic.
“Many of us complain when the council get things wrong so it’s only fair to offer praise when things go well.”
