The driver of the Kia, Shirley-Ann Dumbuya, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tributes, released by Greater Manchester Police, were paid by her family to the 38-year-old married mother-of-four from Moston who was in her final year studying nursing at the University of Bolton.

In a statement her family said: “Our beautiful mum, words cannot express how amazing she was. A truly God-fearing inspiration to everyone she met.

“She will always be in our hearts and will always be sorely missed.

“Our rock, our mum – never ever to be forgotten. Hold your loved ones that little bit tighter and appreciate every moment no matter how small. We miss you mum.”
