Just when we thought the extreme weather had subsided, the Met Office have released a yellow warning for snow and ice on Monday, 1 February.

This may impact travel conditions, with possible delays on roads and bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled.

The warning for snow and ice is in force from 9pm on Monday through until Wednesday (3 February) evening.

Prestonians are being asked to plan their journeys in advance.

The Met Office have warned that some rural communities could become cut off and power cuts may occur.

Other services, such as mobile phone coverage, could be affected.

There is a chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, and untreated pavements and cycle paths might be impassable.
